Amps The Valvetrain Bennington Reverb 1X12"

Hello, as a tube amp gourmet... does anyone tried out this amp ? is it worth changing it for my Deluxe Reverb? ( I play on old archtops with Rare Earth pickups ( devonish , try it) salsa and Jazz the often fogotten Gtr Hero: Charly Christian style. : short responsive punch with musicality Dynamics) other jazz tube amps are pretty heawy for my age ( backpains ciatica ect.. due exactly to 45 years carriying Amps.) Rivera and Kendriks are too heavy, do not mention solid state ones,I know they are feather light. Thank you collegues!

Any good tube amp will be heavy because of the transformers needed for the high voltage. I've never played a Valvetrain but you may want to check out the thread about boutique vs. fender.

The specs list it as 36lbs. The Blues Jr. (31) and Princeton Reverb (34) are lighter. Also consider a hybrid amp like a Blackheart little Giant (20) or Superchamp XD (24). Then you could swap in a neo speaker like the Jensen Neo or Celestion Century Vintage--they are very light and are a little more smooth, frequency-wise, compared to alnico and ceramics.

I tried a ValveTrain Trenton yesterday, which is a 1X12 combo without reverb. It was warm and clean and cost about $1,000. Weighs in at 36 pounds.

I played one of their 5 w amps, it was a great amp. Quite loud for it's size.
