Default Eastman AR604CE Jim Finch Archtop guitar

Can anyone comment on this guitar. It's the oval hole one... I have played one recently and loved it but I'd be interested in others' views. Cheers!

First of all, it's Jim Fisch. The 600 series guitars are named in his memory.

I owned a 604, and currently own a 904CE. Both beautiful. The 604 was a gem and I wish I had it back. Lots of mojo and a unique yet classic, vintage sound.

thank you. There is not much info available on the net about the 604. Do you know what distinguishes the 600 series from the 800 and 900s? I take it the 604s are no longer being produced? all info gratefully received, thanks

The Jim Fisch (600) guitars have a mahogany body and neck, and rosewood fingerboard and tailpiece. The 800 and 900 Uptown Series guitars have a maple body and neck, and ebony fingerboard and tailpiece. The 900 series is "deluxe," with highly flamed maple back and sides, and natural wood binding.

All of them have a carved spruce top. And all the woods are carved - no laminates anywhere.

I didn't know the 604 was no longer produced... I just checked the Eastman site and I don't see it (or any of the oval hole models, for that matter). That would be a bummer.
