Default The Alleykat Looks Good On The Stage

This whole live performance is new territory for me. I'm learning much quickly and the Kat looks gooood under the lights.

Yep. That Kat looks kool. Just like the one I had and I miss it. Looks like you swapped out a pickup or two. Is that a Duncan mini in the neck? And the bridge? On mine I took that piece of tin off the front of the headstock and just put the screws back in. I loved that guitar. With round wounds it was a blues monster and with flats, it got into decent jazzy territory.

Yes, the guitar has been massaged. Duncan SM3 at the neck. The bridge pickup has been problematic...tough time finding one I liked. What's there now is a Gibson 498, which is normally not my choice in pickups at all but it sounds great in this guitar for some reason. Wiring harness I rebuilt, too.
It's a pretty decent little workhorse. It still has a dark tone about it, so I tend to stay with rounds most of the time.

Looks way cool. One of those came up on CL not long ago and I was tempted to check it out. Don't know much about them, but I like it!

It is a semi-hollow but starts out as a solid piece of mahogany that is CNC hollowed out with a center block left in the top. The construction is like the Gibson Pat Martino. Mine was an early model that had some sort of coating on the rosewood neck that the manufacturer referred to as "ebonized". Whatever it is, it looked almost black and was almost as smooth as the ebony boards on my old Gibsons. I sold mine before I had a chance to play with different pickups. I wish I still had one. They are built like tanks and I don't think there's much to go wrong except for the typical switch and pot problems.

Here's a gut shot I found....

Building a wiring harness...

Mine has actually developed a bit of a warp. Hasn't affected playability or anything...

I like it, so I haven't bothered to send it in. They'd replace it with something else and there's not really anything they have currently I like better, so I'm just watching to see if gets worse. Hopefully, it has stabilized.

I just bought me a Wildkat. Apart from it's pretty looks I think it's a very versatile instrument. Quite solid. Although the neck could be a bit faster.
