Default Nice vintage '56 Gibson, but...

What does TDN stand for. Pardon my ignorance, but I see that designation on several Gibson models and have no clue.

assume I am wrong..
Thin
Double Pickup
Natural finish.

Later on the T stood for Top (top being flamed top)

It sounds like a mistake (the T that is) the rest seems right. I pointed out a seller on Ebay who listed everywhere in his ad that the guitar was an ES150.
He wrote back and said.. yeah.. sorry.. my mistake.. it is an es125. He never changed the ad tho. Another seller was selling an all original 1950s ES150.. but with a 16 in body. I asked it it was an L50 with a P90 added.. dont think the seller was impressed. Long story short.. do your homework.

Some es-175 models had a thinner body, sides not as deep. Back then, a 175 had a single pickup, that one has two, the D designation. N is natural finish or blonde. That's the way I remember the designations anyway.
Nice guitar by the way.

Thanks for that info. I think you may be right. It looks like a standard thickness 175 body to me despite the T.
