Default Power supply compatability for Roland Micro Cube?

Hey everyone. I recently bought a used Micro Cube, but the original power supply was lost. It is currently being powered by a Linksys power adapter. The amp seems to be getting sufficient power, but I don't want to risk messing up the amp.

The amp says DC In and below that it says "Use roland ACR adapter only." I've seen this kind of thing on pedals, but have always wondered how necessary it actually is.

Here are the specs on the back of the Linksys power adapter:
model no: A9-1A
input: 120V 60Hz 18W
output: 9VAC 1000mA
Plug in Class 2 transformer

If I continue to use this adapter, will it harm the amp? What do you recommend?

Thank you!

If the amp requires DC power then you MUST use DC!

And judging by how there is no DC in the specs...I'm guessing that means don't use that power supply?

I believe that the adapter changes the AC to DC by itself - that's how adapters usualy work (they go instead of batteries which are always DC). So I'd think it's OK.

As for Rolands recommendation of always using their own adapters - they always do that, also for the Boss pedals. However, there are many generic (and cheaper) adapters out there which gets the job done. Among them are those multi outlet adapters for powering a whole pedal board with just one adapter.

The important thing is that it has 9V DC out and the Ampere is sufficient to feed the unit. And since your amp work with it, it should be OK.

You will find a symbol over the power input which will guide you infinding the proper adapter, which you seem to have used. However if you should not use the proper adapter you risk burning iether the adapter or the amps dircuits.
