Guitar Im having trouble to buy a jazz guitar?

hello everyone im new here, and let me get to the point, i want a guitar to play jazz and i was saving for a godin montreal but its very expensive and its impossible for me get that guitar. a friend told me about te epiphone joe pass or the epiphone sheraton.... can you teel the optiops for a $700 may be a can get more money but you it came first all the monthly payments jajajajaja

and also i saw a bartolini pickups and that another possibility to buy a cheap one and change the pickups, but you guys are the experts on jazz guitar so i hope you can help me!!!!!

I'm not much of an expert but I can tell you that I've heard jazz being played on very simple, inexpensive guitars. Ibanez and the Epiphones you mentioned seem to be popular choices. You can get a pretty fancy hollowbody for $700 nowadays.

Vihar has it.

My favorite is Ibanez. For under $700 (USD) you can get a very well functioning archtop. If I was in the market with $700, I would have an Ibanez and not be concerned about it one bit.

If you can try a Hofner HCT J17. It's a great guitar for the money.
I like it more than my Epiphone Broadway. Check it out.

thank you for your adviced i decided to keep saving to buy a godin 5th avenue cw kingpin II archtop electric guitar i think that the guitar for me not so expensive nad i imagine that i doesnt need any changes at all
