Default K-Line Truxton (Tele Content)

i'm a big fan of Chris Kroenlein of K-Line Guitars. A few months ago, I told Chris I wanted a tele that had neck specs similar to another guitar. After going back and forth and coming up with a plan that would work, Chris built me a guitar. He hand picked a piece of swamp ash, extremely light. I believe the whole guitar is coming in around 6lbs. Scale is the standard 25.5, but a thinner and flatter radius for chord melody. A Lollar Special in the bridge and a CC in the neck. Amber with what Chris calls the closet finish. Not reliced, the thin nitro that feels like it has been around a while. It's finished and shipping later this week. Chris was kind enough to share some quick picts. I thought I would share with you all. The build experience with Chris has been great. He's very responsive, manages expectations well, and knows his stuff. He had no problem telling an idea was not going to work well with the rest of the guitar. Very above board. Now, I can't wait to get the guitar. :drool

That is a really beautiful instrument, congratulations, and thanks for posting the nice pictures. I'm currently building myself a tele parts-caster, with a swamp ash body, so I find your tele of great interest. If mine turns out half as nice as your guitar I'll be a happy man.

Thanks, Meggy. No, it is rosewood. Can't wait to see what you come up with. I am sure it will be great.

In that case it is a really nice bit of dark rosewood I must say. When I get going on my build I'm planning to start a thread on here to document the ups and possible downs of the process. But thanks for the good wishes, it's appreciated.

Beautiful! If it had dome-top knobs it would be darn near perfect! The engraved control plate is a classy touch!

Beautiful.

Interesting you chose the three saddle bridge, what do you plan to string it with?

I love the color on that strat. Now we need some Jack Zucker videos of it!

Chris actually took the neck specs from my Collings and other than scale length worked as close to that as possible. I could have gone with a short scale, but wanted the longer length. The radius is 12 degrees, and I can't remember what frets we went with, but Chris did a full interview and assessment of what I wanted. I've spent a lot of time with Chris on the phone (for our podcast) and for the guitar order; and I have been blown away with his service and attention to detail. The guitar arrives next week and I can't wait.
