Default Line-Out On Amp

I have a Roland Cube and I was wondering whether using the line-out will effect the tone produced.

Is this the same with all amps, and how and why does this effect the tone.

In my experience with a Cube 60, Henriksen JazzAmp 112, and ZT Club - even a Rivera 55-112 - it didn't seem to affect the tone very much, if at all. Try it!

I'd say it probably wouldn't as long as you run it into a system that can somewhat accurately reproduce sound. I've used a Microcube into a PA, and I've tried setting up a higher powered amp and speaker as a level boosting extension device for both the Microcube and a Fender Vibro-Champ XD. Worked well in both cases. Problem was, the bits and pieces weren't as helpful as just a more powerful am would have been.
