Default Speaker questions

Hello everybody:

I'm thinking of changing the speakers out of my AC30 because it came stock with a pair of Warfedales (don't check my spelling on that...) that are supposed to be copies of the Celestion Greenbacks, which are kind of too "rocking" for me these days. I've already asked for suggestions on what speakers to get, and that's not what this thread is about. I have a few questions on speaker terminologies now.

So, my AC30 is 40 watts. Is it okay to get a 50 or 60 watt speaker? What would the results be? What about a 15 watt speaker? What would that be like? What I mean by results are, would the speakers still work okay how would it change the tone is it preferred to have a speaker with more overhead or less overhead etc.

Question two is, do the speakers need to be the same ohms? The AC30 has a switch that goes between eight and sixteen ohms, but I realized that if I got an eight ohm and a sixteen ohm speaker, it would be 24 ohms... or would it be twelve ohms? Do you add speaker ohms if they're in the built it cab in series or parallel??

Thanks everybody!
