I played a brand new Elferink in their booth on a guitar show last year. Very nice guy to talk with; superbly built guitar. Price was relaistic too, some of the luthiers are asking stupendous amounts, but his pricing seems to be very fair for what he is offering.
Dont get me wrong; but it didnt sound very well to my ears though, very stiff. I should immediately say, I have that experience with all brand new archtop guitars that I tried. I like older instruments that have opened up well. So it is not necessarily a verdict on his instrument, it is all solid carved woods so I am sure will open up. I just like someone to do that before me ;-) Again this is not a verdict on the instrument which was fabulous.
(I never understand these reviews of people buying a new guitar and then 3 days later claiming it is their dream instrument. How can you tell ? I am definately not a 'gotta get it new guy'. I dont mind a scratch or two. )
Any ways, it is fantastic that you are sharing pics of the building process. Very interesting to see. Many well known players in the Netherlands play and Elferink.
Mark Deacon put up this super cool clip on youtube comparing a (real) Dangelico, Elferink and Hollenbeck check it out:
