Guitar 1998 Squier ProTone Telecaster

Hello:

Does anyone own one of these?

http://img1.classistatic.com/cps/kj/...8772mf_20.jpeg

I have a chance to buy one and am looking for any (good or otherwise) comments.

Thanks

Dave

I didn't know much about the ProTone series until I did a little Google search... now I know a very little but they seem nice at first glance.

Korean made guitars made in the Cort plant from that time periods through today have been pretty nice instruments.

I am not sure what a fair price would be today, but a quick look through Craigslist and I found another (or possibly the same) Tele for sale... Fender Squier Protone Fat Telecaster

Here is a great review... 21frets.com - guitar information and forum about JV - Japanese Vintage fender squier stratocaster guitars, squier telecaster and basses

Steve, many thanks for the response and for the links.

The guitar that I am looking at (as per the pic) is not the exact guitar shown in the Craigslist ad. Ironically, however; it is from Waterloo, IA (which I assume is Iowa) and the city where I live is partnered with Waterloo, Ontario. Maybe this is some type of indication/"omen" that I should buy this guitar....LOL...any excuse/rationalization is OK by me.

Apparently, the necks on these guitars are fairly "slim" and "C" shaped. That is my actually preference when it comes to necks on guitars (...another omen?...LOL).

Cheers

Dave

I have a Strat Squier Pro Tone with Rosewood neck....nice guitar! I play it for open G tuning but not Jazz.
I heard they stopped production because they out sold the US Made guitars??

I had one just like that. Fine guitar and way better than the Squire name
might indicate.
