Amps Upgrades to Henriksen Jazzamp 110?

I'm currently waiting on a Henriksen Jazzamp 110 that I bought on ebay(its the older 60w version w/o the reverb). I've seen a few threads here and there about some having the power section updated by Henriksen himself(I assume for a fee).

I was wondering if I should look into this option and if anyone else has gone this route? I'm mostly going to be playing in my basement studio, but I was thinking having versatility of a couple extra SPL if I go out playing outside might be nice.

Anyone had the two to compare the older 60w with the newer 120w version?

I've seen a few state that the added power headroom improved the bass and thickened the single note lines a bit but that could all be hulla-ba-loo. I live in Tucker, Georgia so I haven't had a chance to try any of these amps live in person.

Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

I have the 120 watt version and it has plenty of headroom for most small combo gigs but I'm finding I could use more with a drummer.
I would imagine the 60 watt would benefit from the upgrade.

I had an early 60w model, and then later the 120W. I found the 60W lacked headroom and broke up in a loud trio setting, so an amp upgrade could be desirable for that kind of work. The other option would be to upgrade the speaker to a more efficient one eg eminence ragin cajun - although whether that would be cost effective compared with upgrading the amp I don't know. That would give you 3db more.
The 60w is fine for solo playing, though. There's no difference in tone between older & newer models that I could hear.

Sweet Thanks Franz and Jazzrat

Thats basically what I hoping to hear about the difference between the two Franz. I'll look into it in the future then If I need to.

Thanks again that was a big help, like I said before I can't really get a chance to hear these amps at all in person as none of the stores within several hours(4+) around me carry them. I'd have to purchase both and A/B them side by side...a silly proposition!
