Help Advice on preamp/EQ pedal

firstly, i'm a recent member to the site and the response and help you guys offered is fantastic. i'm really grateful. Thanks to one kind member, my amp problem is now also sorted.

I soon will be the owner of a Clarus 2r. In other threads i posted, i mentioned that i mainly play funk and soul jazz, sort of grant green, boogaloo joe jones type sound. It seems to be the consensus that these amps need some sort of pre amp/ eq before them, paticularly to achieve the tones i want.

i'm askin for advice on different pedals to get a vibe for which one might suit me best.
so far the contenders are
Barber barb eq,
sans amp Paradrive di
sans amp gt2

any other suggestions? once i've gigged the amp a bit i'll know more, but your advice is most welcome
thanks in advance
gareth

Why not use a multi effects processor. It will have EQ, pre amp, reverb, chorus and other effects to help the color of your sound.

cuz those have no soul.

The other pedals he mentions are analog. The original sansamp is cool. Haven't played the newer stuff. The OP knows I like the barber Barb EQ

I just recorded a little demo of my heritage sweet 16 and henriksen amp where I used the barb eq at the end. Look in the showcase section in a little while...
