Default Ebony bridge vs rosewood bridge

Can anybody tell me what the difference is on an acoustic archtop that is played with no pickup?

Gabon Ebony has a "Janka" hardness rating of 3220. It aslo has very tight grain. Rosewood has long, open pores but it's still hard enough to do the job. There are other woods that are harder than Ebony. Lignum vitae is so dense it will sink in water. Some people say that Lignum vitae the hardest wood in the world, though I've never seen it used on a guitar.

I switched the rosewood bridge on my Gretsch 6120 for an ebony one. If there is any difference in sound, I can't hear it.
