Definitely, the sound is modern and mainly electronic. As I said, a prefer a more pure blend of wood and electronics, the kind of sound a high level archtop can produce. Again, a matter of taste. But to close this interesting exchange and get back to work -and to the point of this thread- if you play the spanish guitar in question or buy it would be interested in your feedback. Best regards, GCB

So you think the 2nd clip I was limited by the guitar conspiring against me? haha, you're cracking me up.

Do you eat one flavor of ice cream only? Different guitars for different flavors. If I'm playing a solo guitar piece, I might prefer a full hollowbody with a floating pickup but if I want to sound like a saxophone I might prefer some overdrive with a thinner guitar with a block.

Anyway, I'd be interested in demoing the spanish archtop. I'd do a video demo for them but I'm not interested in buying one.

Here is the beauty, we are a custom shop. This guitar is a first for fernando and it is something we spec'd together. The idea to create an instrument that would be very versatile.

Fernando can build anything as traditional or experimental as possible.
Now, let me guess. You sell these guitars, right?

I'm happy with my Jamaica, made by Fernando Alonso. Really a splendid instrument, VERY comfortable and with an outstanding jazz voice.
It originally came with a Seymour Duncan jazz 2 but I prefer by far the Benedetto A6 that I had installed later.

Oh, and....I don't sell anything...or, at least, not these guitars;-)

Are you happy with the Benedeto A6? I put one B6 on my archtop thinline Conti and I'm not convinced by their sound: too many "mids". I thought to replace it with a Seymour Duncan Seth Lover.

Yes, for me, it works...I'd give it a 8/10...I "tailor" MY sound, which is not necessarily the archetypal jazz sound sound, if such thing exists somewhere, with this guitar and this PU, plus...

the pick: Jimy Professionnal 2.0mm ..:: PUAS JIMY ::.. Fabricación de púas, diseños personalizados... (I'd say it is THE most important piece of gear, ha ha...more than anything else...),

the strings (D'addario flatwounds 13-56),

the signal processor (TC Electronics Nova System),

the 2 presets I came up with, after hours of research...

the amps, in a stereo set-up (Polytone Megabrute + Roland Cube 60, or Polytone Minibrute IV + Roland AC60 or Cube 60 or Phil Jones CUB100),

my (modest) technique, etc....

My conclusion/advice...quest for tone is an infinite, and,...veeeeery individual process.
