Default electro acoustic classical recommendations?

Good afternoon all,

Could anyone recommend me an electro acoustic nylon string somewhere between £300-£400? So far I'm looking at the Santos Martinez guitars because they supposedly have some good preamp/piezo pickups on them. The important thing is that it sounds good plugged in ( and maybe that it has a cutaway) I'm planning on using it for the latin stuff, gypsy jazz and some of the straight ahead jazz stuff as well

Thanks,
Eric

Check This Out!

I've got one of these:

Crafter SAC-TMVS Tiger Maple Slim Arch Classical Semi Acoustic Guitar

If you're after amplified performance and not so much acoustic sound it could work very nicely. Very well made instrument for the money, excellent playability and the LR Baggs sounds great with the right amp.

Otherwise, why not try some Godins and wait until you can find a second hand one in your budget.

Best of luck

This place appears to have quite a selection

Cutaway and Electro-Acoustic Classical Guitars > All Water Mill Products. Classical Guitars PLUS.

Yamaha has always been a good brand. They have a relatively inexpensive Alhambra model. Just check out string height as mine was on the high side

I have an Alvarez AC60SC which I really like. It's now called the AC460C:

Alvarez Guitars : Product Information

The piezo system is great. It also has a nice warm, loud acoustic sound. It can be found for $4-500 used. I previously had an RC20SC, which they no longer make. It is a crossover guitar with a narrow nut width and radiused fretboard. If you are only playing jazz or rock, not classical, it's fine--very fast neck, but too narrow for arpeggios.

Taylor makes a nice classical AE that's not too expensive--$900 or so--the NS24CE:

TAYLOR NS24-CE & BAG NS24CE - Elderly Instruments

It seems to have a slightly narrower nut width than traditional classicals and a slight radius. I wouldn't mind moving up to it someday...
