Default D'Angelico NYL-5FH for sale

Hi everyone,

I have a 2001 Vestax D'Angelico in excellent condition.

17" Archtop with 57 mm depth and 25.5" scale length. Essentially a Gibson Byrdland with an L5 neck. The top is solid pressed spruce, back and sides are flamed maple, fingerboard is ebony, the finish is gorgeous sunburst. There is a mounted Kent Armstrong Humbucker.

The NYL-5 is a rare find and especially with a mounted pickup. I've had the chance to play about 10 DA's through the years and have owned 4, and this is the nicest one I've played. Please contact me if you're interested. I'm asking $3,000. Thanks.

That's niiiiice. I have the NYL-5 with the floater and it's a sweet guitar. I would however have preferred the 'burst like yours (mine's the transparent black) but that's just a matter of taste. Wish I could afford to take it off your hands, but........

D'AngelicobVestax

Straight from the Vestax D'Angelico website. The top is solid pressed spruce. I did some recordings with the guitar, which are posted at www.myspace.com/andrewgravelguitarist I think the guitar is especially sweet sounding on Chelsea Bridge.

Aria-made D'Aquisto's are solid pressed. So are the Gretsch Synchromatics (modern) and the myriad of Harmony / Kay brands.

Eternal dilemma. According to Jeff Hale "pressed solid wood" is laminated:

FAQ: Laminated, Solid or Carved Top? J. Hale Music

that's what I thought. i didn't think any of the japanese archtops were carved. Not a big deal. My gb10 and PM120 are plywood and sound amazing.

Yes, some are carved. But then prices are not the same.
