Default Fender acoustasonics for jazz?

These amps are sort of interesting. There was one plugged in at the guitar center around here and I tried it with a vintage hagstrom jimmy(only decent full hollow archtop they carry), sounded alright to me. More interested in the feedback control than the fx. Has anyone playing on carved top guitar notice this help them get a little louder? How does the sound compare to fenders other amps and tube amps. The string dynamics control sounds interesting, it "tames harsh treble notes" not sure if this would be something one would want to utilize always or just use for certain tunes.

I used an Acoustisonic a while ago and thought it was a pretty good amp. I had to add a little bass to get the sound I was looking for but I still was able to get what I wanted with no trouble. I still would have used my Fender Twin reissue, though It was smoother with the way I play. It really worked well with a microphone since it had the correct jack for it. I never miked the guitar with it so I don't know about that. When I stopped gigging in Florida, I gave it to my son who got a lot of use out of it since he does a lot of acoustic work As far as loudness is concerned, I always played in areas that didn't need alot of volume so I can't tell you about that either.
