| | Very good speaker for a closed-back cab. I made an extension cabinet for a friend and he put a delta demon in it. Plugged in a Roland cube 60, that speaker gives a very nice creamy/jazzy tone (my friend plays with an Eastman t-146). |

| | Thanks for the input. I'm seeing that a lot of folks who like the low-mid, EV-type sound like this speaker. I do like that sound...I'll try one. |

How similar is the Delta Demon to the L'il Buddy?
Cheers

| | The EV sounds is a much sought after sound by many companies... Because its an heavy and expensive speaker (and was not available for several years) many companies tried to release clones... I think none succeed.
I have read several people saying a Jensen Tornado sounds like an EV and it does not. Great speaker but not an EV. I think its the same with the Delta Demon... if you want the EV go for one, best jazz speaker imo. |

| | Sorry! EV = EVM-12L = Electro Voice speaker. I think the Delta Demon tries to be a clone of that speaker... |

Any comments on comparing the Delta Demon to the L'il Buddy?
(I have a L'il Buddy now).
The graphs on the Eminence website look very similar (in my technically uneducated opinion) when comparing these speakers.
Thanks
Cheers

| | I have a 1x12 cabinet with an older EVM12L speaker, and a 1x10 cabinet with a brand new Delta Demon. To my ears, the EVM offers an extremely clean, accurate rendering of whatever is input into it. I think it's a wonderful speaker, and the fact that it can handle 200 watts is a real plus given the power of most SS jazz amps these days. I find the Delta Demon to be a bit darker, smoother, less sparkle, but also nice for jazz guitar. Just different voices for the instrument. (The EVM12L does weigh a ton, though.) |

| | I use each of them with the same head, an older (1998) Evans AE200, rated at 200 watts. Based on its reviews, I actually bought the Delta Demon to moderate the Evans' tendency to be very bright. I've only had it a couple of days, so I'm still evaluating. |

| | I use a delta demon in both of my Roland cube 30's. FANTASTIC sound, completely transformed the tone. The quality of sound far surpasses the price! | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
