Help Godin nylon scratchy sound

Hi, just purchased a Godin Multiac nylon and I have to say its a beautiful instrument! I am used to playing a Gibson 137 custom with 12 flats and a Big Stubby 2.0 mm pick!

The Godin when playing with just fingers sounds amazing but If I need the speed I have become accustomed to and use the Big Stubby that I am also very comfortable with you can clearly here the pick scratching

Even easing off the pick pressure doesn't help!

Anyone recommend a heavy pick that is Nylon compatible???

Eddie

Guitar nylons

This is a big problem.
I like to play nylon string only my fingers...fingers create natural sound.
...but I heard Kurt Rosenwinkel on Godin nylon strings guitar playing by pick.I do not know what pich he use with it.
The sound was fantastic -a little similar to arch-top jazz box.

You might try a felt pick. They used to be recommended for use on nylon strings.

I just played one at Guitar Center in an isolated room a week ago and didn't have any odd or unpleasant sound artifacts, at least none I could discern. It could be that the eq of the guitar or amp was the big factor....or that I was using my trusty Dunlop Jazz 208 pick that made for a very pleasant diversion into the nylon realm. I want a Godin ACS something, they're too cool.

If you have been using the pick on steel, then the pick itself is probably scratched on the edges. Try some very fine sandpaper (600-1200 grit) to smooth up the pick.

Even a brand new pick that is molded may have a little bit of excess material at the edges. It could be scratchier than a used one.

The sandpaper should work. That's exactly what classical players use on their fingernails to get that really smooth attack.

I have a Multiac grand concert. I use the dunlop tortex 114m(small jazz ones with rounded edge). Works great. I think you should just avoid stubbys and jazz 3's and anything with a sharp edge.
