Default Going from P90s to humbuckers.

I know this is going to be another stupid question, but here it is. I have already got a couple of guitars with P90s, I just purchase a Godin LG from a garage sale for $75.00 in mint condition. It has P90s. Will a humbucker mounting ring cover a P90 hole, are do they make one are something that will. I know there will be some routing that will have to be done. I have used a
drimel to route out single coil holes to put humbuckers in. I thought for the heck of it, I would try a couple of Stew MacDonalds Parson Street humbuckers in this guitar. Its all mahogany neck and body, and I haven't much money in it. Plus it would be fun doing it.

You could always try humbuckers made to fit the P90 footprint. Lots of companies make them in various models, it could save you some trouble.

There are plenty of humbucker-sized P90s, but very few P90-sized humbukers ! EMG make the P91 and P92. Despite EMG being famous for their active pickups, the P9xs are passive. However they are high output, so maybe not so good for that silky jazz sound !

DiMarzio also have a DLX humbucker in a soap-bar format - again these sound as though they may be quite hot.

Gibson makes P-100's.

Seymour duncan makes 2 or 3 models (the stacked kind ant the side-by-side coils), Dimarzio makes 3. Jason Lollar and Vintage Vibe make one. There are lots of choices out there, my favorite is probably Vintage Vibe, Pete at Vintage Vibe can make you one to your specs for relatively cheap, and pretty darn fast.
