Default 250 for used lunchbox?

Need your opinion on this.

Used but with original box etc.

I need it like i need a hole in the head (actually I need it less than I need a hole in the head)

What do you think? Yay or nay?

Errrr... I missed it too, I'll go google looking for it, but in the meantime; What specifically is a "used lunchbox" for a guitarist?

edit- Must be this thing!

200 watts? Playing large venues a lot? Whoa! My only amp is a Roland microcube at present and it's amazing for what it is.

Do you have a use for it?

THey're not great for recording, and I can think of other amps I'd rather use for home practice. The LB's most useful functions are as a backup or as a take anywhere on public trans gig/jam rig. For those purposes, I use it often, but if I have the luxury to be a little pickier about my tone (and I can drive there) a different amp will likely get the call.

ZT lunchbox amplifier. Biggest loud/small footprint/low price bang on the market.

And you can get them with ham on rye, or pastrami on a potato roll. The pastrami's a little greasy, but worth it.

both have a signal-to-noise ratio that is completely fine for live performance, but unnacceptable for recording, IMHO.

I'm VERY picky about that though. From what I remember, the CLub was better than the original lunchbox as far as that was concerned.

Wife and Child have been deported to the cottage so I was able to crank the vibrochamp. I REALLY dont understand why I dont just sell everything and stick to that.

I did check them out too. On the YouTube clips they don't impress me soundwise, likely because of the small speaker, which is fair enough. I know, though, that it's hard to judge from a YouTube clip (small computer speakers and often badly recorded). They offer a lot of bang for the buck, and you get an awful lot of volume from that little box. But still, you should like the sound as well. So make sure you can return it if you don't.

15 years ago, I bought an Evans FET 500 JE (I guess it's about the same as their present JE200), which cost me a lot of money back then. But that one amp still covers all my needs, and it sounds great both at high volume and at living room levels. Sometimes I pair it with a Boss ME-70 multieffect - mostly for the boyish fun of it, because the Evans has a great sound in itself. As opposed to most tube amps, many high powered high quality solid state amps also sound good at low volume. So if you want to go with just one amp, that would be what I'd suggest. Evans, Henriksen, JazzCat, Polytone, Cube 60/80 - depending on what you find best sounding for your taste and what you are prepared to pay. But of course, solid state will never quite sound like an old Fender Blackface.

And really, what's wrong with your Vibrochamp?

oldane, we've had lots of threads about the lunchbox here, including a cross country trek one made and got reviewed by several members. Search for it--there's a lot of good info in it.

The youtube vids are unimpressive...they're also unimpressive for some amps we know are good! like you said, it's youtube.

The lunchbox has the capability for a very clean, somewhat flat or midrange-humped sound, depending on the guitar, and it can be a great pick up and go amp for jazz playing in a group. It's a remarkable little piece of gear--not perfect, but also, the only thing out there doing what it does.

I just got one new for less than that 2 days ago. Digging the amp but not at your price.
