Default best small speaker cab

i know its kind of a simple question, but what would be the best single 12 cab to get for running low watt tube heads. I want a cab i can crank small heads through.

I like the Mesa/Boogie 1 X 12" cabs. You can get them in several sizes and configurations (partial backs, wide versions, etc). Thiel small enclosure design concepts are used too, by others than just Mesa.

+1 on Avatar. I would think the biggest factor would be the actual speaker. Do you want to push a low-wattage head and have some speaker breakup as well? Shoot for something like a Celestion Greenback, which are rated at 25 watt power handling. If you want the speaker to stay really clean, then go for something with a higher power handling. Another good speaker to look at is Tone Tubby. I have one and love it.

I love my Avatar w/ a Celestion Blue in it. I also play through a gutted Roland Cube. It looks terrible but sounds great.

Default Small Speaker Cabs

I have a couple Raezer's Edge cabinets (built by the late Rich Raezer, but now available thru Jeff Hale Music). I have the RE Twin 8 which tends toward "tube like" warmth and the New York 8 known for its small size and light weight making it very transportable. Both sound great. I also have a Redstone Audio RA 12 ER that sounds great and is very transportable and light weith for a 12" cab.

Check into both on line.

I just built a 1X12 cab and I put a Weber 12f150 speaker in it. Fits perfectly with my peavey classic 30 head.
