Default Eleven Rack

Just purchased an Eleven Rack, Ground Control Pro (Midi), and QSC K12 active powered speaker.

Love them!

Easier to program than an FX-axe and better sounding than POD’s (Including HD500).

Although the Eleven Rack only has limited number of amp models, you can set-up your amp models, cabinets and effects and control them by MIDI so that you can easily get the sound and tone you want in the middle of any song.

I tried out all three effects for about two hours before settling in on the Eleven Rack / QSC K12 combination.

I just found my amp nirvana with the Eleven Rack. While I liked it pretty much out of the box I had a bit of inspiration that made it even better. I recalled that I had a Fender reissue '64 tube reverb unit from back years ago when I played some surf guitar. I plugged this into the signal chain and the tubes and real spring reverb really added a warmth to the sound. I don't dial in a lot of reverb, but it still makes a noticable improvement to the overall tone.

Is it true that the software programming software only works within a Protools session. That would be a deal breaker for me. The HD500 has a nice standalone editor.

Unfortunately, that is true, though you can do a lot of editing right on the hardware unit, which is what I do most of the time. It didn't take long for me to learn how to edit everything on the hardware. I have Protools loaded on a laptop exclusively for any heavy editing in the Eleven Rack, but I have not used it since I first purchased the unit. I've used the POD software, and it is great stuff.
