If the pickups are the ACH series, I think that any aftermarket sets you replace them with will be improvements.

I changed ACH's on my Ibanez AS83 with Seymour Duncan SH1. Really happy with the new ones. ACH had probably been designed with the signal level in mind.

What about the ACH pups don't you like? I have a stock AF73 and I think they sound ok. Maybe not the best, but still ok.

Some people think they're too hot to have the refined tone of the lower output humbuckers that people throw in their jazz guitars. They sound fine to me.

Granted I've just played various guitars with those pickups in stores through different amps and not through my own rig but I their tones seemed one dimensional similar to the factory Epiphone 57's which I've changed out for single coils like Duncan Phat Cats and VV HCC's. With processing I suppose the ACH's would do but they did nothing for me straight through.

After hearing the Custom 58's in an Artcore AF125, I really want to upgrade my ACH's in my AFS75.
