Default Hello

I just joined "Jazz guitar" community, Hello everybody, I am 50 years old and would like to have an easy way to progress in jazz guitar playing. I do like the mathematical way of thinking in jazz, but would like to have some tricks to improve my playing. My main problem is GAS (gear acquiring syndrome), and instead of practicing, I spend hours on the internet to try to find what would be the ideal archtop to buy. I own an IBANEZ GB200, which is a wonderful guitar, and plan to buy a PRS JA-15...
I wish you all health, success and ...fun!!

I thought I already replied to this thread. 3 of my favorite and more reasonably priced guitars in this category are the eastman El Rey, 185/186 and the 165

Have you considered the Conti guitar. www.contiguitar.com

It's a fully hollow thinline archtop made by Peerless Guitars.

Here’s a link to the design philosophy behind the guitar: http://www.contiguitars.com/the-evolution.php

If your're interested, I am selling my Conti guitar (see ebay link below with photos). It's only a couple months old and you can get for about $500 less (when you add shipping and a hard shell case) than what it would cost you directly from the Conti website. I am selling my three archtops (including the Conti) to save up for one really nice one. Am moving and need to have just one nice archtop. Let me know if you have any questions.

Here's a clip of me playing it. http://tindeck.com/listen/nnmx

It's recorded in Sonar with the direct out signal from my Evans custom amp. The backing track is an Aebersold.

I would echo the Gibson 137 custom with an ebony finger board and 57 PUPs will set you back less thatn 2600 or so, and bank the rest.
