Guitar archtop identity?

Hey guys/gals,

i recently purchased this archtop for $100 (Aud). It is from the 60's possibly a little earlier, the best research results turned up that it may
possibly be a antoria guitar, a copy of the real thing, but i'm not so sure.
The writing says 'New England' and below that 'Foreign'. It has a star vintage archtop pickup, which is 100% mint condition! (but it may be a piece of crap, i'm not sure yet! )

Here it is:

This looks very much like an old Framus made in Germany. I once owned one that looked very similar. Decent acoustic guitar but nothing special. I always thought it was nice eye candy for playing at the campfire.

Default Likely from Germany

Hi, this guitar was likely made in Germany. I would agree with the idea that iti came from the Framus factory if it wasn't of the F-holes that are not typical Framus. If you closely look at pics of older Framus boxes, you'll notice that the top and bottom end of each F-Hole are round and not oval like on your guitar. Also the back of the guitar doesn't look like a typical Framus. However, Framus guitars were sold in the UK under several different names and apparently some of the guitars had modified designs. Also some of them had the word "foreign" printed under the brand name. So maybe it is one of those guitars. There is a good UK based site called European Guitars Forum. I'm sure that these guys can help you out. Other manufacturers that come to my mind as possible fits are Tellson and Fasan who produced for custom labels of larger Music Stores and even entry level models for department stores. Good luck.
