| | Small bodied semi acoustic I just bought a small bodied semi acoustic, an obscure guitar made in the far east but surprisingly good in my opinion. Any of you owning a guitar like that? It is even smaller than the 336 and 339 Gibson model.
The guitar plays and sounds very good and jazzy, and isn't heavy which is a big advantage when you get older, 60+, in my case. Among other guitars I also have a 50's Gibson Les Paul, but it is far too heavy, sitting playing would be ok but standing up - no way!

| | Small Bodied Semi Acoustic I own an Ibanez AGS83b which I bought for teaching but liked it so much I ended up upgrading it (Gotoh tuners, Bare Knuckle pickups, Tone Pros, CTS pots) and it now is an absolutely fantastic guitar...they're very versatile, those smaller guitars, especially when you need more than one sound..and very easy on the back too...what make's yours? |

On Harmony Central there were some models but not this one so it was a bit of gambling but I found the guitar to be just fine so there is nothing to regret.

In my world a semi acoustic is a 335 type guitar (in Sweden we call them half acoustic) that is not a full bodied. I bet you knew that but maybe you are just making fun of me?
The guitar to the left is a standard 335 size and to the right the model that I call small bodied semi acoustic.

/R | No not joking. Those guitars in the photos, we call semi hollow here in the States. I have never heard the term semi acoustic, and certainly didn't think of these types when I heard that. Chalk it up to various cultures/countries getting together on a common site. |

Make a search on Google for semi acoustic and see what you'll find.

| | Semi-acoustic was certainly a common term for this style of guitar in the UK, but I must admit you don't hear it so often now. |

/R | hi there, do you have anymore information about the flying trademark? i've been searching the web but i couldn't even find the brand's website.
Can you please tell the model of the guitar and if there is any place where I can find prices and all that stuff?
Thanks a lot,
MJ |

MJ | Hi MJ, sorry I can't help you with that. I bought this guitar on a Swedish auction site and had never heard of the brand. It was a chance because I didn't know anything about the guitar but liked the model and got it for a very decent price.
I guess this is a China or Korea guitar but you can't find any information on the guitar itself and searching Google gave me nothing. The only thing is a hand engraved serial number 1471. Chinese factories have made many test series under different names that never went to serial production.
This is close in size and model: Hitta Santander_Player450_Semiakustik_sunburst_geleimter Hals på eBays internationella marknad, där det finns fynd att göra i alla dina favoritkategorier. Allting kan levereras till ditt land!
Maybe this link also will be interesting for you: http://www.musicradar.com/gallery/ne...-339-483193#!1
Good Luck!

| | Greetings GuitaRoland
Your guitar reminds me a lot of a VERY popular Ibanez model, the AM series - like AM100, AM200 and so on. Smaller 335 style, deep cutaways, thin comfortable body. A lot of the guys I know over at ICW (Ibanez Collector's World) would KILL for smaller bodied semi's.
I bet you love playing it. Again Welcome and your English is dam* good.

Mike | Yes I enjoy playing the guitar. And thanks for the welcome though I joined this forum long before you did - Dec 2009 to be exact.
Thanks again about my Swenglish (Swedish-English) I read a lot in English perhaps that's why I am understandable

"Semi-Acoustic" is what I've always heard these guitars called, ever since I first showed any interest in guitars as a kid. More recently, I've noticed people describing acoustic guitars with pickups as "semi-acoustic", but then to me that's an "electro-acoustic".

| | That looks like one of the "Highland" models that are available online. The company that makes the highland models makes similar models with different headstocks- They also sell an L-5 looking beast... |

I'll try to find their website. It's somewhere in my "Guitars URLs" folder. |

| | Strange the differences in terms. here in Australia I worked in a guitar shop for 10 years back in the 80's.
I've never heard the term "Semi Hollow".
It's always been "Semi Acoustic".
But always pronounced "Semeeee acoustic" and not "Sem eye Acoustic"
Then again I only heard the term "Jazz Box" in the last year or so.
