Default Great New Books Coming Available

I've seen so many questions about playing using chord tones. I would really like to help aspiring players get there. I've been playing over 25 years and have cobbled together a couple of books from all the notes I used when I was learning. The things I have in these books will get you there in terms of a great understanding of how to use the major scales and also chord tones in your soloing and fretboard knowledge. Also a great way I developed that I call the "juxtaposition method" to help keep all of the information organized in your brain.

Using chord tones effectively in your solos is absolutely essential if you want to have any chance of playing like the greats, Montgomery, Hall, Metheny, Benson, Pass, Scofield, Burell etc.

I was recently looking through all of my notes that I cobbled together over the years when I was learning, and realized it would make some great books for beginning and intermediate players. This information would help alot of players a great deal. So many of the instructional materials/books I've looked through (and that's quite a alot) are heavy on theory but very weak on the practical application of the technical information. That's a big way where my books will differ from them. I'll keep it light (as much as possible) on confusing cumbersome theory and very strong on the practical application of the technical information in your playing. Also all examples will be in TAB and also uisng clear fretboard diagrams. Covering scales/modes, substitute scales modes, and chord tones and how to integrate this information into your playing like the Pro's.

I've been negatively effected by this economic downturn so I have to watch expenses right now. The books will be $19.95 and I will need a bare bones minimum of 20-25 people ready to order before I can invest in publishing the books.

This is great stuff laid out in an organized easy to understand format. Just posting this to see if there is enough interest for me to go ahead and publish the information. If so I'll add a page to my website to order the books. If so I'll also add some cool free content to my site for begining/inermediate players to learn from.

For example this guitar solo is comprised almost entirely of playing off of chord tones, as are many of his solos. I will have the information in my books to explain how it's done.

If you would deliver to Europe,I"ll order.
Would prefer spiral-bound like Johnny Pac"s book.

Hey Jonny - Thanks, it's not really for me though, doesn't really makea difference either way to me. Just seen so many questions around here and I know this stuff would help alot of these players. Decided if I do it I'll just condense it all down to one book.

Mack - Yes I would ship to Europe or just make it an e-book. Only if there's enough interest though. Just trying to help out up-and-coming players around here.

I know this stuff would really help alot of them get better quickly.

I know you posted your playing before and I think you play beautifully. You should post a link so folks can hear you play, it's good marketing.

Thanks Fep I really appreciate that as I did all of the nice comments when I posted my playing before, thanks .

Okay here's the link to my website with some samples of my improv: waynesmusic.weebly.com

A few clips there for folks to hear my playing style. My amps ended up needing service all at once so it will be just a little while before I can post more playing clips. Anyway I can still get the instructional materials going in the mean time .

I know the materials I have would really help up-and-coming players. If people are interested I'll add a page to my website where they can get the books.

This sounds pretty interesting, do you have any sample/preview material so we can get an idea of what it'll be like? Since you're looking for commitment to get the project started, you might want to look into a crowdfunding service, such as Kickstarter.

I would be interested. I am working on the Joe Elliott "Introduction to Jazz Guitar Soloing" Approaching Chapter 18
I never played "jazz" guitar before. Always played rock, blues, classical stuff.
Now take lessons with a Jazz instructor ( who has a degree in music teaches at the local University School of Music ) , he is amazing.
I am REALLY liking the idea of Jazz guitar now, can't believe I was so ignorant to it in the past.
I love the theory behind it, the chord changes. I am only now aware of the idea of chord tones, using triads, arpeggios, and playing over changes,,
I "used" to only play Key Center type soloing,,,now it's Chord Tone soloing I am learning.
sorry for the ramble,,,just stoked on learning this stuff....and would be very interested in your teaching materials Double 07

Mr. Double 07,
I stand by my words and ordered 2 copy"s of your book.
I think you write about Chord Tones, but reading from the outlet
about Segovia fingering,arpeggios,scale fingerings?
Hope I doesn"t have you misunderstood about the books intention?

No the chord tone explanations are all still there I just decided to add MORE to the book than only using chord tone explanations. So you will be getting even more information now with the book. I decided to make it a complete book to help get players going with jazz improvising but all the important chord tone information is still in there.

Oh and thank you very much for your order.

Glad to hear you finished the book, congrats! If you haven't done so already, you might want to post an announcement with a direct link to the book. Also, did you have any preview content available?
