Newbie! New to the group

Hi, I Have been playing for about 3 Years, took it up after I retired. I belong to a Jam group at the local Senior Center and we do a lot of the old standards. Blue Skies , Angry, Reminisce and Birth of the Blues. While fun to play some of the cords are a bit scary. I am learning them but I hope this forum an web site will help me learn faster. The good thing is playing with this group has helped me become a better reader (just wish I could get the tempo up to speed.) I look forward to getting to know you.

welcome to the forum Don..

You will like it here....many great players and educators who will answer all your questions...

Good chord charts on this site..and do check out Bert Ligons site as well as Jamie Aebersolds...Jamie has a 50+page book you can print for free on jazz theory..not too deep but just right to get you started..

Too many sites to list here...but this is one of the best and I have been here a few years and will stay here..

time on the instrument...pierre
