Default Greetings

Hi all,

I am new to this forum.

I've been playing guitar for many years -- mostly classical. I would call myself an intermediate to advanced amateur (but with little theory).

I've always loved jazz, though, and recently have been going through the "Larry Coryell Jazz Guitar" book. Very useful. Also, for some reason I've been hearing "All Of Me" in my head a lot lately -- both straight ahead, and with a gypsy, Django/Bireli LaGrene rhythm. I've been fiddling with it a little, in the key of C. Still groping my way through it.

Anyway, I just joined this site. A notice at the top of the page said "Why not make your first post today?" so here it is.

For whatever it's worth...my favorite players are William Kanengiser (classical) and Ralph Towner.

John Kelin

Thanks, one and all, of the welcome.

Interesting to see Andrew York offered up. Great composer. I'm a big fan of the LAGQ, of which he is a former member. Now that it's mid-December I'm pulling out their recording of the Nutcracker.
