Default jimmy bruno method using a classical guitar?

I'm mainly into bossa nova and I just started working the jimmy bruno lessons. I use a classical guitar without a cutaway so I've been having problems playing the positions after the 12th fret. What would be the easiest way to practice the different scale positions? Should I just ignore the higher positions? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah, I'd practice what's feasible, and always keep in mind that anything above that 12th fret is going to be a repeat of something 12 frets lower anyway.

One thing a lot of guys will do who play 12 fret non-cut guitars will be to still access the higher notes on the high E and B strings via a little fretting hand gymnastics...so be familiar with those notes...watch a few videos of Eric Skye--he plays a steel string, but it's a 12 fret 00 style...he gets up there as good as anybody.
