Default What was practiced today

So today I figured Id document my practice routine in order to get some feedback from you pros.
Amin7 to a Bmin7. Thats it! back and forth practicing different strum patterns, to a slide and noticed how tight i was in doing so. So I decided not to move on till the strum and change was as smooth as I saw on a Youtube video.

Then picking patterns of the major scales, Im embarrassed to see how many times I get stunted (is that the word when a different string is played?)

Its gonna be a slooow process.............

Well I'm no expert, but if you're practicing min7 chords, try practicing the minor scale instead of the major. Or flip it around and practice maj7 chords to go with the major scale you're already practicing. Learn a corresponding arpeggio too. When you can learn related things like that, you can make connections in how all these things work together. Just my $.02.
Either way, keep plugging away at it. It does get easier, and more rewarding.

Learn tunes.

All else is noise.

I'm not sure what kind of lessons you've had to this point. But I think it's a good idea to take a few lessons to get any obvious flaws in technique corrected.

I'd say a few classical lessons to get your hand positions correct, in particular your right hand (really you could spend a year on just that).

And some jazz lessons to learn some hybrid picking also.

I think it's time to set a good foundation so you don't develop any bad habits.

I wrote up a fingerpicking exercise for Bm7 to Am7. I think this will give you some variety to make learning these chords more interesting. And get your groove on, that something I've found so important and something I need to work on. So notation, mp3 example and a couple backing tracks, one slow at 100bpm and the other at tempo 140bpm:

Attached Files
File Type: mp3 Am7 - Bm7_Render Compressed.mp3 (453.9 KB, 8 views)
File Type: mp3 Am7 - Bm7 100_Render Compressed.mp3 (1.13 MB, 6 views)
File Type: mp3 Am7 - Bm7 140_Render Compressed.mp3 (817.2 KB, 5 views)

Good afternoon, Fep...

Looks very nice; very useful. Tiny detail question, if you would...
Could you explain to me please the C# in bars 3 and 4..? I see it's a C nat. in 7 and 8, as I would expect. Why the C#..?
Thanks in advance

Thanks, Fep, I'll sleep easier tonight. I was at work, so couldn't listen to the samples. All fixed; well done (very nice layout, very nice exercise...).
