Default Jazz Guitar teachers in the SF Bay Area

San Francisco Bay Area (I live in Marin county and its better if its in Marin but I'd be willing to goto San Francisco)
Does anyone know of any reasonably priced jazz guitar teachers I found two by googling but one never responded and one was too expensive (I.E. $125 an hour).

Hi Christien, I have taken a couple of lessons from Jeff Massanari in Oakland (JEFF MASSANARI :| GUITAR) and like him a lot, and his lessons are quite reasonably priced. I also took Mimi Fox's introductory jazz guitar class at The Jazz School in Berkeley. This is not a beginning level class--I was in over my head having played for 3 - 4 years at the time--but it worked out well nevertheless. (I met Jeff when he subbed for her a couple of times.) I'm sure there are a lot more good teachers around here, and I look forward to other responses. Good luck!

I doubt she is reasonably priced, but Mimi Fox lives in San Fran. I think I would have to take a few lessons from her if I lived there. My best advice when looking for a competent teacher is to go to all the music stores and ask around. The same handful of names should keep popping up. Good luck

Christien... did you find teacher yet. I play in SF, Cotati and Calistoga a lot and could probable arrange a lesson or two a month. I can cover just about anything, have a few degrees, one from Berklee in the mid 70's, taught at UCLA and made a living composing music back when we actually had to write things out. I usually help great players get better. I'm not a baby sitter type of teacher and I don't need the $, so I stay on the low end side of going rate... Let me know if I can help.... Best Reg
