Default Dave Woods, Jazz Guitar Starting Right

This is my first post and I'm just trying to find my way around. I'm an old timer, been playing for over 60 years. I majored in Composition back in the Jurassic at Arizona State University, took all the courses, left early without the degree. There was no recognition for guitar back in 65.

I worked as a composer arranger guitarist teacher in NYC for years, and then moved upstate to Poughkeepsie NY. Here I still play and teach. Since the midi digital audio thing came around, I've been composing New Age Music, and improvising guitar solos over the tracks. I'm a Cakewalk Sonar user.

I run a FREE guitar site called Jazz Guitar Starting Right. I do it just because I love to teach and pass along what I've learned over the years. I also have a USENDIT account and can Email large files.

Great stuff Dave!!

I love your "temporary tritone" explanation. I've been building some great fingerstyle and chord melody voice-leads from this basic concept. Very clear explanation and easy to remember and apply.

It also answers allot of questions I had about the underlying concepts of Barry Harris's approach (which I have been working on for a couple of months).

Thanks and welcome. Im mostly a "lurker" on the site these days but I look forward to new additions to your site.
