 jody fisher complete jazz guitar method ive worked through most of book 1. i like the layout. it does not have standard tunes or backing tracks but it very structured. i am about to buy the remaining books in the series. i already have playalong and fake books. to put in to practice the lessons in the book. overall how would you rate this method. is there anything alot better. im very comfortable with the layout as i said. the way its broke up you can make it like taking a weekly lesson. one part chords one part scales. thanks     |

| Jody's stuff is really good. My favorites of his are his Jazz Skills book, and His Total Jazz Guitarist. In the later, he covers the basics of improv, chord construction, etc. Then the next section, he takes 3 tunes, and walks you thru a) how to construct a chord melody, b) creatively comp, and c) how to solo thru it. He does a week long seminar thru National Guitar Workshop on this topic also, basically covering everything in the book during class each day.
