Default Losing a loved one

I just learned that the first musical influence in my life, my grandfather, passed away. He came from the big band era and helped shape my love for music when I was young. He was an afluent sax and pianist, and was a solid fixture in the Harvey Anderson Orchestra. He helped get me into UNT, my dream school.

I just don't know how to feel about the whole situation. I am numb, not sad nor happy, just numb. I have been listening to music since I learned of his passing. Music celebrating life and death.

How do you deal?

sorry to hear that. I don't know how to deal with that sort of thing, but I'm sure you will come to terms with the loss and cherish your memories

Sorry for your loss. I've lost both my parents and my dad was my first musical influence....

...it ain't easy going through it. You just gotta go through it. Rely on your faith. If you are not a believer, even thought it is cold comfort at this point, just know that time will heal.

And keep playing and listening. Maybe you can, alone, play for your grandfather. Might help....
