Default At The Garden Party

I just picked up a copy of Ed Bickert's "At the Garden Party" and it is an awesome display of his jazz guitar talents. He is truly "one-of-a-kind" and this album may be his best. I highly recommend this album for pure enjoyment for guitar players.

Uhmm, thanks for the recommendation. I must confess my collection to be Bickertless. I promise to fix that.

derek! my goodness!

"garden party" is a great place to start, and you ABSOLUTELY NEED the records he did with paul desmond--pure desmond, the live record on A&M, and you can get a few other live recordings released more recently (there's one from the edmonton jazz fest on gambit that is very well recorded)

It is an absolute must-have. It also features Don Thompson on bass, which is always a plus. If you have nice headphones, check it out through those. You will hear some really amazing subtle chord work.

Correct me, but I believe it won the Canadian version of a Grammy when it was released.
