Default Pinched nerve in left arm....

Hi all... So, I woke up a couple of days ago and started to notice there's a patch of skin In my left arm, precisely my lower tricep muscle ,where I have no sensation, if I pinch it hard enough I start to feel it, but there's really nothing. I got really suprised when I moved as I normally do and got a ridiculously painful burning spaz in the numb areA....

This hasn't affected my playing at all, but I get burning shocks and still have little to no sensation in that area ..... What can I do? What can be done to fix this? I have no health insurance...

Thanks

Sorry to hear of this. I hope by now you figured out that ya gotta see the doctor. Trying to practice through these issues is foolhardy. let us know how you are doing.

Hopefully if Obama's health care bill will be passed, many artists and musicians will have an easier time getting coverage.

Asking advice for medical issues on an internet forum is absolute madness-please book yourself into your nearest psychiatric hospital for treatment!
Seriously, though-bite the bullet and see a doctor-a real doctor. At LEAST get a diagnosis. Once you have a diagnosis, cost the price of actual treatment, and work out a way to pay for it. Maybe organize a benefit night or something?

I had extreme constant pain in my left shoulder a few years back and my left hand was numb and could barely grip the guitar. In other words, I couldn't play. X-rays showed a pinched nerve in my neck. Drugs and physical therapy didn't help. As a last resort (and I'm a skeptic about such things) I went to a Chinese accupuncturist. In ten or twelve sessions over the course of a couple of months, it gradually got better and has been fine ever since. Insurance didn't cover it, so I had to pay about $90 per session out of pocket. I don't guarantee it, but that's my experience.

Thanks for the advice. I never actually went to the doctor, but the intense burning has gone away and the used to be numb area feels kinda like a bruise now and I am getting feeling much better. Maybe I got lucky? Idk, I'll go see a doctor about it... Thanks again guys.
