Default Gypsy Sound

Here's a link to a video with Julian Lage playing with Mark O'Connor. When I first heard this without looking I thought he was using a Gypsy guitar, amazing how much like one an acoustic archtop can sound, or maybe it shoulf be the other way around!

Damn, that sounded great, What a trio!

I've never heard of Julian Lage till now, he's pretty good. I'm going to look up some of his other stuff, cheers for the share.

Pretty great stuff. Respectfully, I dont think that sounds much like a gypsy guitar though. Not much gypsy "bark" there. The good ones will have more nasal midrange, and more growl in the bass. A lot of that is technique though.
