Berklee proficiency exams, leveled pieces and tunes
Long story as to why I'm asking, but, for anybody who has gone to Berklee recently, can you tell me anything about the following:
1. The proficiency exams for guitars at different levels. I found these which are pretty helpful: Berklee Guitar Proficiency Level 6 Flashcards , Berklee Guitar Proficiency Level 5 Flashcards , Berklee Guitar Proficiency Level 4 Flashcards, Berklee Guitar Proficiency Level 3 Flashcards
Any other information about how this stuff is tested would be helpful/interesting.
2. There are proficiency pieces that you have to play, right? Certain prepared pieces that have an assigned level of difficulty?
3. I'm aware Berklee has a rating system for their players. But I heard recently that different tunes actually get different ratings. For example, Giant Steps is a tune that has a high rating. But they actually have a system that is fairly concrete, and regardless of how artistically correct that may be I'm curious which tunes are at what level and what the highest leveled tunes are.
I live near there so I'll probably go down and just ask. I did a little googling - I don't know if they keep this stuff "classified" or not.
Thanks!
