Default Intonating a wooden bridge

To get the wooden bridge on my guitar decently intonated, I have the bridge at least 10 degrees off horizontal. The guitar's a Sadowsky, so it's not a build problem. The high E is still a tad off, although the other strings are near as dammit. It just looks so weird being off kilter like that, although it sounds ok, which I guess is the important thing. I am at a loss. Any suggestions.

And it's a new set of strings, TIs, so that's not the problem either.

Max,

Sounds like you're an acoustic player - me, too.

And yeah, a bridge won't be perfectly perpendicular to the floor, or rarely. I have an old Martin R-18 (1940) and its bridge looks like it's pointing to one-o'clock! You gotta set them by the two E strings at first, then tweak from there.

Is your bridge compensated? If it's a Sadowsky, I'd assume it is.

Anyway, nobody'll pay much attention; just set to to sound right and play that baby.

Peace,
Kojo
