Default Your Dream Set - Top 20 Jazz Tunes

If you were to pick the top 20 instrumental jazz tunes for a set to play with a group which tunes would you choose? If you don't have 20 just put down as many as you can. Another way of putting this would be what are your top 20 favorite jazz tunes to play with a group?

Oh yes I thought this would be fun too. By all means include standards too if they also happen to make good instrumental jams.

Yikes...a dream set? That is almost too much freedom to fathom. With the huge diversity of jazz, I'd be disappointed not to see a ton of tunes that I've never heard of before. So many great tunes never even got covered by anyone but the original artist, if you know what I mean. Plus, my dream set would probably change from week to week. This week's dream set might be this:

Invitation
Epistrophy
Milestones
Hottentot
Stolen Moments
Number Ten
Impressions
Maiden Voyage
Fables of Faubus
Back Woods Song
Zydeco Clowns On The Lam
Mercy, Mercy, Mercy
The Chicken
Jelly Roll
Speak No Evil
Struttin' With Some Barbecue
So Nice
Mean Streak
Works For Me
Sweet Georgia Bright

Whew! That was tough. I could stretch those tunes into 3 sets, easy. It would be a dream to sit down with other musicians and even get to play them at a rehearsal!
