Default Changes to Darn That Dream same as another song?

I was telling my GF about how the jazz combo I'm in has decided to add "Darn That Dream" to our set list, and sent her a link of Doris Day singing it. She's a singer (excuse me, I mean vocalist) herself and she swears that she knows this song from way back but with different lyrics and a different title. Of course, at the advanced age of 44, she doesn't recall what. Anyone have any idea what other song she might be thinking of? (This one is new to me.)

Nah, she's just having a moment, like last week when I was asked to figure out who my buddies 6 month old looked like, and I said "bobby darin."

Turns out he was asking me if the kid looked more like him or his wife.

LOL, I figured as much. Thanks for the info.

PS really enjoy your playing on this tune on your site. Is that your own arrangement? I just got the Barry Galbraith CM book in the mail, and it's got this tune in it. I'll start checking it out tonight.

Thanks, brother--yeah, everything on my site is my own arrangement. I'm much more proud of my arranging ability than my playing on many of them!

I've had an opportunity to listen to some of your CMs as well; the arrangements are excellent and you sound excellent.

Help Develop your ear

would like to see comments on developing your ear especially when playing gigs without the benefit of charts which is a common occurrence.
example...you start on a tune and when you get to the bridge...do you
know the key center or are you fumbling and therefore embarrassed?

I found this:

Extensive list of Contrafacts? - Jazz Bulletin Board

It says Darn that Dream is a contrafact of: Dream: Paris 1965

I think you have that backwards? DTD was written by Jimmy VanHeusen before 1965, so "Dream" would have been a contrafact of DTD and not the other way around?

So I was talking about this last night with the GF, and she claims that she has a Herb Alpert disc somewhere that has this tune on it. Same chords, same melody even, just different lyrics. (Yeah, I know - Herb Alpert, lyrics?) So we agreed that I was obviously wrong, and clearly so were my friends on the forums, even though she can't seem to produce the recording quite yet. :-)
