Sounds like too much reverb and a bad camera mic. Sorry, I don't like it.

Yep-sounds like tube reverb turned up to the moons-a la fender.

Truth is, this sounds a little like something besides pure jazz. It's almost...I guess I'd call it some kind of world music - perhaps jazz influenced but definitely related to another culture besides American or European. There seems to be almost some kind of Asian sound to it. Definitely interesting.

I know that. He is clearly using different articulations and he employs that minor third and close intervals that is from a lot of "ethnic" scales. I was just simply wondering what his setting/effects are. I know there's reverb in there, but there is also something else

Exactly. Tube reverb. Neck and middle pickups, giving that "sound". Nothing else.
