Default a tune I like - "you go to my head"

"You go to my head", a ballad written many moons ago.

I have it by Billie Holiday.

Very nice tune. chord pattern is a little off the beaten track, and interesting.

Worth a look. if you are looking for a different kind of ballad.

you can listen to Billie do it, it's on youtube by her.

I like this quotation so much I might have to borrow it from you and Stan Kenton.

thanks for your comment.

The Tom Harrell tunes I mentioned; I just heard them a few days ago I had never heard anything by him till then.

And they get more and more beautiful as I work them out.

A great standard! Recorded by many great vocalists and instrumentalists in and out of jazz. For starters, take a listen to Sinatra, Ella, Chet Baker, Desmond in the "Duets". I think even Willy Nelson sang it. (The guy with the hole worn into his guitar . . .Is that his name?)

Yes, Willie is the guy with the hole in his guitar. His guitar is a martin nylon string which he has a name for ... "Trigger"

I read that willie said when the hole gets too big, he will retire the guitar and himself.

Right now, Willie is one of my favourite singers, and guitar players.
