 Sonny Sharrock hi, I'm kinda new to jazz but I found a sonny sharrock song on youtube called "who does she hope to be" there is a really nice hook in it played by the horn section. I am wondering if anyone can give me the chords for that hook and the rest of the song. I'm not very good at figuring out the jazzier chords as I've only just started into jazz so I would love to get some help on this one as it is a great song. thanks     |

| Sounds like... The horn section 'call' = Em-G-D / D-C (repeat); the 'response' chords = Am / G / F (repeat). This isn't precise, just the harmonic outline, based on the horns + Sonny's line. Hope it helps! Last edited by JimBobWay : 03-02-2010 at 11:42 PM. |

| I used to crank Last Exit records in college when my hippie roommates were annoying me w/ too much Grateful Dead! Sonny is awesome. He got such a vocal sound out of his guitar. I highly recommend all his 80's stuff if it is still available. I especially like his duet cd w/ Nicky Skopelitis - Faith Moves. Very cool stuff and Sonny's tone is to die for. Ask the Ages is also really good. =-) PJ |
