Default Bob Conti's The Comping Expo - Anyone Have It Yet ?

The Comping Expo

Not too many books on comping and rhythm work out there, so it should definitely find a nice niche.

I love Bob's stuff and will definitely get it when I have time to dig into it. Just wondering if anyone has seen it yet and can offer a sneak peek and describe what's in there?

Hi Peter,

I am reviewing The Comping Expo for Just Jazz Guitar, and I've had an advance copy for a week or so now. I have posted a mini-review on my web site, as well as a short blog post and link to it at http://blog.davewalkermusic.com/

In short, it is terrific, and perhaps Robert Conti's best DVD yet. I am looking at a small stack of comping books I have bought over the years, and nothing comes close to this presentation. There are great tunes from virtually every genre of jazz, and they are a lot of fun to play.

Read the review and see what you think.

Default good comping book

Hello Dr. Dave, I agree with you, this looks to be a really good value for comping. I also visited your website---very nice!

I haven't seen it yet, but Conti's stuff is always easy to understand, and gets you up and running quickly. I imagine this product is no different.

Hmmmmm.....may have to get it sooner than later then.

Check This Out! I Love The Comping Expo

This has been a huge help to me.I've only had it a week and a half and I can already feel the differance. My Advice ? GET IT AS SOON AS YOU CAN.It will not only help your comping ,but spice up solo guitar....and as an extra bonus ,the chord substitutions seemed to create jazz lines of their own. Very cool.Do yourself and your vocalist/soloist a huge favor.

I received the Dvd a few days ago, but I have not yet been able to look in depth. But the little I have seen I liked it: mainly the variety of styles to practice comping. I think it will be worth the long wait.

Thanks for the heads up. Just ordered my copy along with the 'formula'.
They have a big discount till the 5th and I thought I might as well take advantage of it.
I'm really enjoying the chord melody one by the way!
