Default changes for twisted blues

Hi,
I'm searching for the chord changes of Wes Montgomery's Twisted Blues.
I saw the title listed in 'The Hal Leonard Real Jazz Classics Fake Book - C Edition' which is not printed any longer and is not available here in switzerland, so I'm looking for some hints here. Does anyone know the chord changes for that tune.
Regards, Martin

Thanks for your quick help. It's not exactly what I hear from the
recording, but I get closer now. Thank you.

I think the G7 is G7b5 then Gb7 to G13 twice. Somebody posted a chart of this here.

Do a search and see if it's still there

Heh, and we were just talking about chromatic 2-5's!

Would you say that tunes in C or Gb? Edit: nevermind, I followed that other link, Gb. I thought it'd be fun to have a tune in C with no C chords in it!

I would guess Gb (but since it's a blues and the Gb is a dominant 7th......)

Maybe that's why it's twisted

Thanks for the link to the chart. I thought I did a search with no results.
Nevertheless, the chords in the chart sounds very close to the recording in my ears. That helps a lot.

Good man. Transcribing a tune from the recording is always a better way than just reading a chart!

in bars 4, 8 and 16 (from the chart in the link posted above) I would write the chords as | Db7b10 Db7b9 Gb7 | (the notes writen in the chart are those chords without the root, but the chords written say simply G13 - Gb7)

You can see Wes playing it here: YouTube - Twisted Blues (1965), this version being a little different from the studio recording though.

I already know the video. The song is played much slower, but still to fast
for me. And I think you are right. The chords in bars 4,8 and 16 sound different to what is written in the sheet.

I had a Gb7 -> Db diminshed -> G7 so far. But the Db7b9 sounds much
better. Thanks for the hint.

Isn't it strange how much time one can spend with such a short progression.
But luckily one can use it in other blues songs during improvising as well :-).

Regards, Martin
