Default rate my comping

Im new to this style of comping. Just looking for some critique and advice, mostly on voicings, movement, etc....

theres a few mistakes in there (mostly time oriented), but I only got one run through before my phone died, and one of my big problems is when I make a mistake I don't plough through. One other thing I already know is that my swing could be more swinging' :P

A thing of great value for you to do at this point, IMHO, is to play against a metronome. Keep it slow at first. Really zero in on the beat and stay true.

In my head I was hearing a clave on the "and" of one, then the "and a" of two. The exact same thing on beats 3 and 4. It made it syncopated and swing in my head against what you were playing. If you have a way to stress those beats in a backing track or metronome, it might help you it might not.

I would get it rhythmically solid first, then worry about voicings later. Keep up the good work. You will get it. Remember, "practice does not make perfect", perfect practice makes perfect.
